Description
Jagermeister is a digestif made from over 56 herbs and spices which includes licorice, anise, ginger, juniper berries, ginger, ginseng, and citrus peel macerated in a combination of alcohol and water. Produced in Wolfenbuttel Germany by Wilhelm and Curt Mast in 1934. The German liqueur is made from a variety of 56 different herbs, fruits and spices, giving it a bitter-sweet taste. The recipe has been passed on from generation to generation, so the taste and feel continue to remain the same, bottled in their signature green glass bottle.
The name Jagermeister in German means master Hunter or Master of the hunt, which existed as a job title before the drink was produced. Since Mast was a hunter, he drew the inspiration for the classic Jagermeister logo a stag with a glowing cross between its antlers from the tale of St. Hubertus, the patron saint of hunters. In 2012 the brand launched a branch extension of premixed drinks which come in two flavours, namely raw and ginger lime.
